Recovering

The birthday cake is still in the freezer as the rest of the family succumbed to the stomach churning, porcelain worshipping flu on Wednesday. We were like slow-motion dominos...boom, boom, boom, boom, boom..Bill is the only one left standing. He's quarantined at work today. In recovery mode, Moses, Joshua and Esther enjoying a game of Cathedral after 3 movies and a few pieces of toast.

Basketball

It is so fun to see my brother playing basketball. I feel like he held a ball before he could walk (which is true)!  He also loved to watch my older brother Caleb shoot baskets in our mini-indoor hoop. He would lay on his belly at the edge of the kitchen floor "court" and eagerly follow Caleb's every move hoping the ball would land within his reach. Finally, when he learned to walk at 28 months, one of the first things he did was to shoot baskets in our mini 4 foot basketball hoop. When he got tired of using the little kids hoop, Dad would lift him up and swish, in it would go in the big one. Now here he is, doing it on the indoor 'pop-a-shot' all by himself! Oh, and he can make it in the big hoop at DeVos Field House too. I can't even make it in that one all the time! I am so proud of him!

Joshua's turning 8!

We've been counting down the days to Joshua's birthday and it has finally arrived. Here he is enjoying his birthday dinner of choice (sadly not mom's home cooking) but none other then JETs pizza with his favorite fruits on the side. Did I mention that we have the stomach flu going around the house (Esther is the first victim) and after finishing his pizza and saying his tummy hurt we put the birthday cake in the freezer because it doesn't tastes as good coming up as it does going down...which goes for pizza as well!  Ahhhh!
