Kings and Queens

This morning, after finishing their schoolwork, Joshua, Moses and Esther decided to make a play. They invited mom and I to watch. Moses said the tickets cost 10¢. We paid our fee and sat down to watch. "What would it be?" I wondered. Together, Moses and Joshua could come up with some pretty interesting things!
Joshua was so excited, he kept peeking out from back stage to see us. Soon they marched out, with Esther between them. It appears that King Moses, Lady Esther and Sir Joshua were going for a afternoon walk. Suddenly Caleb burst out from the forest to steal Esther away, the king and his knight fought him nobly. But he returned again, this time he was 'invisible.' He stole Esther, but his invisibleness wore off and they saw him. Esther ran to mom and the fight continued until someone started to cry. In the end they made peace.

The birth of a child....

The birth of a child always changes the dynamics of a family but the arrival of our son Joshua into our home and hearts, 8 years ago, put a unique twist on our parenting adventure because he has an extra 21 chromosome! In celebration of his 8^th year we thought it would be fun to let you, who may have spent little or no time with a child that has Down syndrome, have a glimpse of his life. We are going to take a picture or video of him everyday, (mostly), for the next 365 days, accompanied by brief comments from family members, so that you can experience his zest for living. So drop in for a minute or two whenever you can and see for yourself the life in a year with Joshua.
